Includes Buphaga africana [Buphagus africanus] ('irids [iris] yellow, inhabits among herds of cattle, feeds on the insects that infest them in great numbers here'), a species of Tantalus ('irids greyish, marshes and the banks of rivers, making a screaming disagreeable noise at night'), species of Picae ('male, irids burnt amber, this bird lost its tail, being only wounded, it came off in my hand', 'female, irids reddish brown, creeps on trees, feeds on berries') and species of Vultur ('male, irids bright black, builds in trees near banks of river, said to be fond of human flesh') [here the list includes 65 more birds].
