Coloured engraved plate depicting designs for a 'hot house'. Includes a transverse section, elevation and plan with a scale bar to the bottom. Described in the book as being 'built against the end wall of the riding-house, and is constructed for the purpose of forcing roses, flowers, &c'. Woburn Abbey [Bedfordshire] is the family seat of the Duke of Bedford, and as of 2023 is still a family home to the current duke. The book plate bears the imprints 'Transverse Section', 'Elevation', 'Plan' and 'London, Published Sepr.1.1806, by J.Taylor, 59 High Holborn'.
