Written from Munstead Wood, Godalming, [Surrey]. Manuscript. Pencil\r\nJekyll is glad to hear from her again; she has noted the plants [ordered] and will send them at the correct time; she cannot supply garland rose or chimonanthus, but may have the latter in the autumn; she is unwell, at 88 years of age, and has a worn out heart; she has been bedridden for the past fortnight, and has been ordered another week in bed; she thanks Brand for mentioning her to Mrs Simon; she has ‘a splendid lot of good hardy plants in bigger plants and at lower prices than the nurseries.’ Dated 29 Mar [1930; Jekyll states she is 88; she turned 88 in Nov 1931]\r\nOn the reverse the letter is annotated ‘Miss Gertrude Jekyll, 88 years old’ in pencil
