Scope & content
Written from Munstead Wood, Godalming, [Surrey]. Manuscript\r\nThe only alteration to Jekyll’s proposal for the rising ground beyond the stream is the substitution of the Cistus laurifolius for amelanchier that she could not supply; she thanks Brand for returning the wandering package; if Brand were to see Jekyll’s packing shed on a busy day, with many different lots of plants, groups of labels and packing staff, she would wonder that mistakes did not happen often; there are still six heracleum to be sent to her in March. Dated 29 Oct [1929; the misdirected package was referred to in Jekyll’s letter dated 16 Oct 1929, see JEK/2/1/41]. With envelope, annotated ‘The bamboo will be sent on next week’
