Decorative border featuring an ermine mantle, with two figures in traditional Russian costume holding the coat of arms of the Razumovsky family. The motto is incorporated into the design above an extensive handwritten inscription. A stylised depiction of Lathyrus sativus borders the inscription and signature.. TC: 'His Highness / The Prince Rasoumoffsky / Privy Councillor to His Majesty the Emperor of all the Russias; Senator; / Knight of the Order of St Andrew, and for St Alexander Newsky, / Grand Cross of the Order of St Wladimir of the First Class; Grand Cross of the Royal Order of St Stepehen, Knight of the Black Eagle, and of the Red/ Eagle of Prussia of the First Class etc, etc, etc, / Elected Fellow of the / Horticultural Society of London / August 3rd 1918; C: Motto inscription: 'Famam extendere factis' [to spread fame by deeds]; C: Signed: 'Prince Rasoumoffsky', in ink.
