Black and white photograph of a group of Land Girls outside 'The Lilacs' at RHS Garden Wisley. Dimensions 8.8 (h) x 11.4 (w) cm. Joyce Maynard became Assistant to the Entomologist G. Fox Wilson, and worked at RHS Garden Wisley from 1945-1981. The Lilacs, in Wisley village, was used as student accommodation. Pencil inscription on verso, 'Env 67, 6, DD. Landgirls and "Women's Farm and Garden" Members at 'The Lilacs' 1945. Left to Right - back row - Cynthia Gregg Thomas, Elizabeth Le Marchand, Virginia Du Plat-Taylor, Daisy Studdington. Front Row. J.
