Written from 45 Charles Street, Berkeley Square [London]. Manuscript
The tesserae she wants are about this size [an accompanying sketch of a small cube is drawn in the body of the letter] or a little larger; she does not care about the size as she knows an instrument with which she could break them; she would like varied and brilliant colours, with a few for backgrounds; she knows nobody else who would respond to her requests with such generosity; she hopes Maw is well, and asks him to visit when he next comes to London; she has a curious bowl, made without a potter’s wheel by the ‘Moche Indians in Southern Mexico’, with ‘emblematical figures’ roughly painted on it. Undated [c.1874-1881; other letters from Nevill to Maw in this collection were written 1874-1881]. Written from 45 Charles Street, Berkeley Square [London]. Manuscript
