They returned on Friday from a trip to Devon and Cornwall; she found Maw’s box and asks that he send plants to the gardener in future so they are not kept out of the ground, as the saxifrages have died; she hopes the Fritillaria will do well; she is making a peat bed for lilies as Maw suggested; Maw will get his ‘yellow Japan’ [Lilium auratum, Japanese lily] with one or two other things, but Stirton [Alexander Stirton, head gardener at Coed Coch] is asking her to wait so that she can include some of the ‘Corsican pines (Laricio)’, which have grown very well this autumn; Maw must go to the Falmouth area to see the incredible gardens; she lists some of the species she saw. Dated 6 Oct, no year [c.1874-1875; other letters in this collection were written c.1874-c.1886; Mary Lloyd Wynne died on 6 Dec 1875]
