She presents her compliments to Mr Maw; she read a description in the ‘Garden’ about his Alpine plants, and asks if it is possible for him to exchange some of them and some Esparto grass with her; she has a large collection of hardy plants, including Marsilea macropoda, the nardoo [Marsilea drummondii], the Pulmonaria maritima [Mertensia maritima] or ‘oyster’ plant [a name used for various species], and Crithmum maritimum or samphire, besides many others; her address is Portsmouth direct line to Rogate station. Dated 25th [1874; the letter reads as a first introduction; other letters from Nevill to Maw in this collection were written 1874 onwards]
