Today he sent six Lilium carniolicum, the three small from one locality and the three large from another; he included two bulbs of Tulipa greigii, ‘the most beautiful hardy bulb ever introduced’; he accepts the tiles and thanks Maw, and threatens ‘revenge’ for the gift another time; he sends his regards to Mrs Maw [Frederica Mary Maw]; in a footnote he asks the gardener to keep the bulbs separate in a little dry earth if Maw is not in. Undated [c.1874-1880s; Leichtlin lived in Baden Baden from 1874-1910; other letters in the Maw collection were written 1860s-1880s]
