He thanks Maw for the pottery samples; he hopes to see them in Venice [Italy], where they have been sent, when he visits in June; he has a collection of Hispano Moorish [Hispano-Moresque] plates with metallic lustre, but nothing important as he is not a collector; Professor Graells [Mariano de la Paz Graells, botanist] says he is in direct communication with Maw, and is only waiting for the snow to melt on the mountains before he collects Maw’s crocus bulbs; it has snowed an unusual amount in the Guadarramas [Guadarrama Mountains, Spain] this year
