The Fritillarias have been identified by Baker as Fritillaria armena [Fritillaria pinardii] which is similar to Fritillaria dasyphylla [Fritillaria bithynica]; Harriet [Harriet Anne Thiselton-Dyer, botanical artist, his daughter] has drawn them for the ‘Botanical Magazine’; he thanks Maw for the Araba[?] which they had from Playfair [Robert Lambert Playfair, consul-general in Algeria] but are glad of the ‘more’[?]; he will look for Maw on Thursday morning; the enclosed bulbs are from north-west India; the label has been erased but he believes them to be from Aitchison [?Charles Umpherston Aitchison] at Hazara [India]
