He asks what was the habitat of Maw’s Androsace near Corsica; it seems from the enclosed that the Thames route will not be possible, and they must take the P&O to Gibraltar and trust the rest to providence [enclosure not present]; it would be best to take letters before going to Southampton, as the China mail leaves on the 1st; he invites Maw to stay the night before they leave; Hanbury [Daniel Hanbury] is getting him the medicines; he is preparing Androsace for the ‘Botanical Magazine’ so any information Maw has will be useful; he thinks it must be from a subspecies of Androsace carnea which is very variable
