He is not sorry to have until the end of the month to himself; he asks for Maw’s counsel on equipment as he usually leaves everything until the last minute, but this trip is too important; he asks Maw to meet him in town whenever suits him, and he will put him up for the night; he will see to the presents[?] but asks Maw to look at his tent, and advise him on weights for luggage mules, clothes and such; as the artist will help them collect and pack dry plants they should take him; he asks Maw to write to Woodward [unidentified] and he will have a look at Fielding [unidentified], but would rather visit him than have him here, in case they do not like him; he will put the idea to the artist in a way that should not raise his hopes too much
