He thanks Maw for his note and enclosed list [enclosure not present]; he would be glad of any of the seeds that Maw can easily spare for distribution to the West Indies as they are not hardy in England; he has marked the seeds they most want; he would like their new man Lynch [Richard Irwin Lynch] to go over Maw’s collection but is worried Lynch will be too busy this autumn; the tent would be useful; he suggests Maw go to Marocco [Morocco] and the Great Atlas Mountains, which he has considered himself but has not yet been able; he knows Carstensen [Frederick Carstensen], the consul at Mogador [Essaouira, Morocco], who would offer assistance under a letter from the Foreign Office; Carstensen thinks that the higher Atlas is acceptable to visit in March or April; no naturalist has visited yet
