He thanks Maw for the enclosed [enclosure not present]; he asks Maw to send Mr Robinson [unidentified] whenever convenient and Mr Smith [John Smith, curator at Kew] will see to Duncan’s [unidentified] instructing him; he is very promising, and even if Maw no longer needs him he is sure to get on well; Maw should keep him on his toes and overlook nothing for the first year; he hopes Maw will visit when he passes through town
