Coloured photographic postcard showing a view of flower beds and hedges in the Walsall Arboretum.. Ink: [personal message] [address in Luton supplied]. The Walsall Arboretum was opened in 1874 by the Walsall Arboretum and Lake Company, which went into liquidation three years later. The Council took over the arboretum, originally on lease, and finally as a municipal park in 1884. The bandstand dates from 1899.
