Coloured postcard showing a view in East Park, Southampton, with the Andrews memorial on the right. Ink: [personal message] [address in Lincoln supplied]. East Park, also known as Andrews Park (and sometimes, by misprision, St Andrew's Park), Southampton, was laid out in the 1850s and 1860s, and named after a former mayor, Richard Andrews. It contains a memorial to Andrews designed by James Pedley and sculpted by Benjamin Brain (partially dismantled in 1971 because of erosion of the Bath stone base, and replaced in 2001 on a Portland stone base), a 1914 memorial to the HMS Titanic, and a 1930s rock garden
