Sepia-tinted postcard showing a view of the Bournemouth Winter Gardens. The Bournemouth Winter Gardens was a glasshouse, constructed in 1875 to serve as an exhibition centre, but in 1893 the Bournemouth Corporation took it over and turned it into a concert hall. The Winter Gardens were demolished in 1935, to be replaced in 1937 by a new concert hall, constructed in brick rather than glass. The new Winter Gardens was demolished in 2006 to be replaced by a carpark; a development plan for the Winter Gardens site was underway at the time of cataloguing
