Mounted colour slide of Valerie Finnis (1924-2006) holding a pot of Constance Finnis poppies in the garden of the Dower House (Boughton House). Constance Finnis was the mother of Valerie Finnis and these poppies could either be Papaver (Oriental Group) 'Constance Finnis' or Papaver nudicaule Constance Finnis Group. After her marriage to Sir David Scott, Valerie was also known as Lady Montagu Douglas Scott. Valerie married David in 1970 and moved into his home, The Dower House, part of Boughton House and one of the seats of the Duke of Buccleuch. Finnis lived at the Dower House after Sir David's death in 1986 until her own death in 2006.
