Sepia-tinted postcard showing a view in Brenchley Gardens, Maidstone, with the war memorial, and the fable of the lion and the mice carpet bedding display. Brenchley Gardens, Maidstone, was designed by Alexander McKenzie, and opened in 1871. In 1921 Edwin Lutyens created a war memorial, placed in the Gardens, for the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment.
