Uncoloured postcard of a view of the lake in St James's Park, with a view of the Victoria Memorial Fountain and Buckingham Palace. St James's Park occupies a site formerly owned by Cardinal Wolsey, which Henry VIII acquired, and which was landscaped under James I; it was remodelled in the French formal style under Charles II, and opened to the public; it was relandscaped by John Nash in the 1820s
