Coloured postcard showing a view of flower beds in the Jephson Gardens, Leamington Spa. Pencil: [personal message] [address in Southampton supplied]. Jephson Gardens, Leamington Spa, were created as part of the expansion of the Pump Room Gardens in the mid-19th century; they were originally laid out for the owner, Edward Willes, in 1834; in 1846 they were named in honour of Dr Henry Jephson, who had promoted the spa. An obelisk in honour of Willes was erected in 1875, and a pair of fountains added to the lake in the 1920s
