The Borough Gardens, Dorchester, were designed by William Goldring and laid out in 1895-96; Goldring also supervised the planting, the plants being supplied by Veitch. The park was laid out on the grounds of S. R. Harris' nursery; Harris became the first superintendent. The Gregory Memorial Fountain was added in 1898
