The Royal Pavilion, Brighton, was originally commissioned by the Prince Regent (later George IV) from Henry Holland, but redesigned by John Nash after 1815; Repton published a volume of proposals for the grounds in 1808. In 1850 the Pavilion and grounds were sold to Brighton Council; the grounds were restored to Nash's original plans from the 1980s
