Uncoloured postcard showing the gates of Preston Park, Brighton. Preston Park, Brighton, was originally part of the grounds of Preston Manor; it was bought by Brighton Council in 1883. Across the road is The Rockery (originally the Rookery), created by Captain McLaren in 1935-6 and treated as an addition to the Park. McLaren also designed the Rotunda cafe, the Bowls Pavilion, and the rose garden
