Coloured postcard of Alun Chine, Bournemouth, showing one of the bridges. Ink: [personal mesage] [address in Greenwich supplied]. The Alun Chine area in Bournemouth was bought in 1805 by William Dean. In the 20th century the Chine was crossed by three bridges – the suspension bridge in 1903, the arched bridge in 1922 (replacing an earlier one), and the beam and post bridge in 1924
