Coloured postcard of the Serpentine, with two people in a boat. Pencil: With every best wish Connie [address in London supplied]. Hyde Park was enclosed as a deer park by Henry VIII; Charles Bridgeman landscaped it in the 1720s. Rotten Row, allegedly a corruption of Route du Roi, was laid out for William III, then living at Kensington Palace
