Coloured postcard of the interior of the Roof Gardens in the Blackpool Tower. The Blackpool Tower was opened in 1894, designed in imitation of the Eiffel Tower by James Maxwell and Charles Tuke; it was rebuilt in the 1920s after it had been affected by corrosion. The original structure contained a ballroom designed by Frank Matcham; this was rebuilt after a fire in the 1950s. In addition, the Tower had a roof garden
