Black and white photograph of David Slade in his parents garden in Bulford Camp, Wiltshire, during the Dig for Victory campaign. Dimensions of original photograph: 6 (h) x 8.7 (w) cm. David Slade notes 'I must have been six or seven year of age, at the time (I am 85 now).
During the war, my family was living at No 6 A Block, Bulford Camp, as my father was a 'regular' serving in the Royal Engineers. He had been 'stationed' at Lille in France, before the fall of Dunkirk.'
