She thanks Robinson for his letter of sympathy; she is glad he got to St Paul’s [her father, Garnet Joseph Wolseley, was buried in St Paul’s Cathedral]; she found it impressive and beautiful, simple and ‘soldier like’, just as he would have wished; she has been overwhelmed with letters, and has been to Mentone [Menton] to see her mother; she hopes to visit and see his spring flowers; she asks if he would say a few words of encouragement on the subject of garden design to her lady students; she has ten serious-minded and promising young women; she thinks there must be good openings in advisory work; she has not succeeded in getting a good imitation of the Italian pot, and now they have raised their prices in importing them from Italy so she dares not encourage him to get them
