No one wishes or needs to see a corpse, or the exhumation of bodies or desecration of graves; space and resources exist in England for decent burials; beautiful cemeteries might be made without doing or receiving harm; in the Roman Empire, there were no cremations after the conversion of Constantine; Robinson may write clever books and set up elaborate ovens but he will never persuade Christians to practise cremation; he advises Robinson to practise his generous impulses in benefitting the living instead; there was an uproar recently following an attempt to introduce cremation; he is sure that the process of natural decay will always be preferred to sudden incinerations
