He has seen in ‘Gardening Illustrated’ a complimentary notice about him and a reproduction of one of his paintings which he had forgotten, and he thanks Robinson; he is encouraged to have his name mentioned with those of Fantin [Henri Fantin-Latour] and Moon [Henry George Moon] as he admires their work and Moon was helpful to him; he has never forgotten Robinson’s kindness to him in his struggling days; he would like to see Robinson, and if Robinson is ever at Lincoln’s Inn Fields he would like to call and show him some of his recent pictures; if convenient he could come to Gravetye and would enjoy a chat about old days and friends; he expects Robinson’s place is more beautiful than ever and would like to see it
