He is sending lists of seeds, plants and trees to be procured from various catalogues and people, including Mr Floy [Michael Floy, nurseryman in Manhattan, New York], Mr Smith of Burlington [?Daniel Smith, nurseryman in Burlington, New Jersey], Mr Landreth [David Landreth, owner of a seed company in Philadelphia], Mr Dick [William Dick, horticulturist, janitor at the University of Pennsylvania] and Mr Prince [William Prince, horticulturist in New York]; he hopes they will arrive in time; it is possible there is some repetition in the lists, but it does not mean plants should be duplicated; Douglas should send plants by ship to London; he will be glad to see Douglas back home as soon as the plants have been obtained
