Watercolour on cartridge paper of Lilium duchartrei var. by Reginald Farrer, 30 Jul 1914. Recto: LL of artwork: Handwritten in pencil: 'Lilium - L.Duchartrei Joni-Tibet July 30 1914, Ba-u-go'. Farrer was travelling in the mountains on the borders of China and Tibet. The place 'Joni' is now identified as Choni (Jone), Kansu (Gansu), China. In his book 'One the Eaves of the World', Farrer described the South-East corner of Kansu as being in Tibet.
