The information he has sent 'on the other page' [in a separate letter] will relieve Joseph's anxiety [for the letter from Edward Sabine to Joseph Sabine, 29 Dec 1821, within the papers of George Don, see RHS/Col/2/4/6]; Don [George Don] ('the poor fellow') has probably 'passed a miserable time', and the ship will seem 'a little paradise' to him; he and Sir R.M. [Robert Mends, captain of HMS Iphigenia] have become friends in the last few days; Mends should do whatever he asks, though he will not be unreasonable; they shall sail as soon as they receive their men; his next letter should be from Madeira [Portugal]
