He has shipped six glazed cases of plants and a basket of seeds on board the Duke of Bedford in the care of Captain Thornhill [Robert Thornhill]; he encloses a bill of lading [shipment receipt] and a list of the contents of the boxes [enclosures not present]; the list includes the contents of a further six boxes, which Thornhill has no space for, and which will be shipped as soon as possible; it is better in any case to not send everything on one ship; he encloses another bill of lading [enclosure not present] for two boxes of dried plants and asks those to be put on his account; a complete set for the Society can be taken from those specimens.
