He read in the Gardener's Chronicle that applications should be sent to him for those wishing to obtain specimens of natural history from Mr Fortune [Robert Fortune]; he wishes to have specimens of grasses, 'Tartarian lamb, [...] (Cibotium?) barometz [Cibotium barometz, woolly fern; thought to have inspired the myth of the Tartarian lamb, a half plant, half animal creature]', 'Agriela[?] eagle or Alves[?] wood' and a seed vessel of the 'true Lotus (Nelubium rubrum? [unidentified])' and 'the dwarf or artificial Liligantian[?] trees'; these may be delivered to Messrs Wright & Co at 8 Pinners' Hall, Old Broad Street, London, who will pay for them, and forward them to his house at 15 Portland Place, Hull
