He thanks the Society on behalf of his friend, Framjee Cowasjee [merchant in India], for the plants and seeds sent to Bombay [Mumbai, India], and the letter of 22 Jan; 'should it be determined to keep this island [Hong Kong]', the native fruit trees could be improved through grafting; he will be happy to promote 'the Society's objects'
