Unmounted medium format colour slide of official RHS photographer James Downward (1896-1970) with his assistant Ernest Crowson (1910-1988) and an unknown person. Crowson can be seen on the left touching the plant pot of a small crocus; the central figure photographing the plant with a bellows camera is unknown; Downward can be seen on the right holding a pipe. A white studio backdrop can be seen in the background. Ink inscription on sleeve on recto: 'PTO'; '46'. Ink on verso: 'Ernest Crowson J. Downward'; '46'. Address supplied.
