Unmounted medium format colour slide of plantsmen David Shackleton (1923-1988) (left) and Wilhelm Schacht (1903-2001 in Bavaria preparing for a four-hour trek to see the Schachen garden. Forests and mountains can be seen in the distance. Ink inscription on sleeve on recto: 'Preparing for 4 hour trek up to the Schachen garden Wilhelm Schacht & Shackleton'; '546'. Address supplied. Full name: David Copland Beattie Shackleton. The faces of two of the figures in this slide are obscured but from the style of dress, I believe Wilhelm Schacht is the person behind the truck wearing a hat
