Unmounted medium format colour slide of Princess Margaret (1930–2002) (right) with Richard Scott, Earl of Dalkeith (b.1954) and his mother, Jane Scott, Duchess of Buccleuch (nee McNeill) (1929-2011) (centre) at the Dower House (Boughton House). Ink inscription on sleeve on recto: 'Right –the Earl of Dalkeith – whose gt x 5 grandfather was RHS President with the Duchess of Buccleuch & Princess Margaret left'; '594'; 'at'. Ink on recto crossed out: '584'. Address supplied. Full names: Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon (born Princess Margaret Rose of York); Richard Walter John Montagu Douglas Scott, Earl of Dalkeith, he was later the 10th Duke of Buccleuch and 12th Duke of Queensberry. Richard was the great great great grandson of former RHS President Walter Francis Montagu Douglas Scott, 5th Duke of Buccleuch (1806-1884); Jane Montagu Douglas Scott, Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry. Valerie Finnis married David Scott in 1970 and moved into his home, the Dower House, part of Boughton House and one of the seats of the Duke of Buccleuch. Finnis lived at the Dower House after Sir David's death in 1986 until her own death in 2006
