Montreal, Halifax and Totonto.'. William Saunders (1836-1914) was an agriculturalist, entomologist and pharmacist. He was born in Devon but moved to Canada in 1836. He was a founding member of the Canadian Pharmaceutical Society, the Entomological Society of Canada, and the Ontario College of Pharmacy. In 1886 he became the first Director of Experimental Farms in Canada, where he produced the wheat cultivar 'Marquis'..
