Worthington George Smith (1835-1917) worked as a botanical artist and book illustrator. His work illustrated the Gardeners' Chronicle for almost 50 years. He won an RHS Gold Medal for botanical art in 1865, received a Knightian Medal in 1875 and a VMM in 1907.
