Charles Maries (1851-1902) was an English botanist and plant collector. He was a plant hunter in Japan and China in 1877-1879, for James Veitch & Sons. In 1881 he went to India, and became Superintendent at the palace gardens of the Maharajah of Darbhanga and the Maharajah Scindia of Gwalior, as well as for the Gwalior State Gardens.
