Robinson’s letter was the brightest element in his post today; he could frame the picture of Gravetye Manor; he thanks Robinson for his invitation and directions but his travelling days are over; his only exercise is to hobble around his garden, and he would appreciate Robinson’s company in doing so; among his many visitors has been the sister of their friend Cooke [Edward Cooke], and he was reminded of Robinson as one of the contemporary visitors to Cooke’s paradise; few have added more to the world’s innocent enjoyments than Robinson; he invites Robinson to visit him; he is now a widower; his colleagues at the Museum send him old bones to name, and periodically he receives a rarity from the Antipodes, as per the enclosed [enclosure not present]; he thanks Robinson for a bright weekly enjoyment, and invites him to write privately to him
