She thanks Robinson for the reprint of his ‘Farewell’; she felt emotion when she read it in ‘The Garden’; she had thought of writing to him but Sir Herbert Maxwell had answered on behalf of those who owe so much to Robinson, better than she could herself; she dislikes ‘Gardening Illustrated’ now as although useful, ‘all the salt and savour seems gone out of it’; Robinson must find comfort in the rest and relief from the responsibilities of editorship, but she asks if he doesn’t sometimes miss his pulpit
