She has sent Robinson’s French boots to him, labelling the parcel ‘Boots’ in case his people think it contains flowers and put them in water; she urges him not be put off by their pale colour as a few greasings and wettings will cure that; she hopes they will be right but notices the heels are 1/8 inch higher than his order; she has been making a small rock garden for a friend in the clay; she did not realise before how nasty clay is
