Scope & content
Black and white engraved plate depicting Lulworth Castle in Dorset, for centuries the family seat of the Weld family. After a devastating fire in 1929, the castle was partially restored, in a partnership between the Weld Estate and English Heritage. The castle can be seen to the right of the engraving, surrounded by trees, with sheep grazing in nearby fields. The book plate bears the imprints 'Publish'd as the Act directs April 1st. 1785 by W.Watts, Chelsea', 'Lord Duncannon, del' and 'W. Watts, Sculp'.
