Black and white engraved plate depicting New Hall in Chelmsford, Essex. Once owned by Henry VIII and known as 'Beaulieu', the house was bought by John Olmius, Baron Waltham in 1737, who demolished and rebuilt much of the former palace. As of 2022, the house is 'New Hall School'. The house can be seen in the centre of the engraving with a boat with two figures aboard in the foreground. A gardener tends to the grounds in front of the house. The book plate bears the imprints ' Published as the Act directs, Jany. 1. 1779, by W.
